It was 5 years ago today.......
This may read egotistically. But hey, whatever.
Look at those three beautiful children in Fisherman Uni's. Ya'll can call me gay, straight, stupid, a loser....or say that I'm living in the past. Well guess what, even if all of those were true....I'd still tell you to go fuck yourself because what happened exactly 5 years ago today, will probably wind up rivaling the memories of my future marriage, birth of my first child etc. We won the MIAA State Championship 2-1 vs. Coyle Cassidy at the TD Garden. We got to skate on that ice, and to put it frankly, we deserved it because we were damn good. Retards? Yes. Super Awesome? Without question. Did the MBTA create an extra train just so all you muffs could see us play? Yea, they did, and I bet they regretted that decision.
The manner in which we won, to put it conservatively, would have given your grandfather a heart attack. Mama Brunson (Judy Doyle) was so nervous that she found herself in the bathroom so she didn't have to watch. The Crowd, against St. Mary's, was fucking epic. We thank you for that. But above all you should be thanking us for the great service we (TJS) provided this town. A State Championship.
What better way to celebrate the 5th anniversary you ask? Why we are going to the scene of the crime to watch the Hockey East Finals. Sitting in the balcony with fellow teammates of the championship era slugging brews. Sign me up. I will be 75 years old and I will still remember what glorious memories were had on March 19th, 2006, but above all, I will make sure I tell you about it.
