The NFL Owners are a Bunch of Cock Suckers
Today, some disturbing news has broken regarding the state of the NFL and its labor negotiations. Apparently, over the past couple of years, the owners had been stockpiling money totaling in the amount of 4 Billion dollars in preparation for the lockout. This way, with the extra savings, they would have been able to cover expenses for a long-term absence of football games. And while the Owners would have been financially solvent for that period of time, the players would have lost ALL salaries and benefits provided by the league. Talk about a weasel-esque move. The players earned a small victory today when a judge ruled that this money saved by the owners cannot be used to cover expenses during the impending lockout.
Lets make one thing perfectly clear. The NFL has seen impressive profits over the last few years and they have one of the best financial systems in professional sport. BUT, the owners feel that it is not an effective system and they chose to opt out of the current CBA (collective bargaining agreement) with the NFLPA. The players were not asking for these negotiations and the owners want to take more money from the players. In addition, the NFL wants to increase the regular season schedule to 18 games while reducing the the preseason to 2 games. Their claim for why this is necessary? To provide more value for the fans.
Pardon me for using my rather large brain, but instead of risking increased injury to your players by adding regular season games, why not lower the ticket prices of preseason games to increase the value. Its official, the owners are just a bunch or money grubbing whores, who put themselves before the players, who make them their money.
